When I developed a feeling towards numbers

I remember when I was in prep school.

Life was a game. Maths was a game.
Collect the exercises. Gotta catch them all.
We spent a lot of time with friends, sharing exercises...

Some people didn't do that. They were thinking about the stakes.
They were thinking about their future. What they would be doing later on.
What the results would entail. The name of the school would be on your resume for ever.

It would tell you what kind of people you'd be.
Whether you's be well paid or not.
Whether you had a chance to meet the right people at the right moment.

Life is a game. Enjoy it. Find the little things that you enjoy.
Maker it everyday. Trade math exercises like pokemon cards, or girls met in a bar.

I sometimes remember walking on the edge of a sidewalk...
If I can walk like this for 20 meters, I'll treat myself to a McDonald's.
If I do a little more, I'll take a McFlurry.

C'est fou comme le temps passe vite quand on s'amuse!

We spend our lives in front of screens.

I wake up, I watch my e-mails.
Then I check my phone for sms, or voicemails.
At work, I just stand in front of my rectangle of internet.
I stream movies at home.

My computer could not boot 2 days ago.
I felt like I lost my eyesight.

I think we should stop using screens.
I would like a plug I could directly connect to my brain.

As I was in a swimming pool, with the blazing sun, during a barbecue, I realized.
I realized that I was just an animal.

I felt really good just sitting there in the water.
My hands floating freely.

Business planning. Market. Competition. Porter diagram. Agile programming.
Paying the bills.

Everything vanished in a wink, rubbed away by the water.
There was nothing left but my body.

What's going to happen later? Is everything just a dream? A fart in a Jacuzzi?
Is my tie stuck in the grinder?

I don't know. I don't care.
Just feels like monday again. I hate monday.

When brothers have to share the cake

Here to share a recipe.

That's just a basic trick we used with my brother.
I thought it was universal, but most people seem not to use it.

Ok imagine, you're 13 years old, and your brother is 10.

You have the last slice of pizza.

You look at your brother. He looks at you.
No one will give up.

We're both ready to fight.

But you can't darn eat no pizza with no teeths.

So we go to the sensible solution: share.
-A good compromise leaves everybody mad - Calvin and Hobbes

So who is going to have the biggest of the two new slices?

Going to the point.
-One of us splits the remaining slice.
-The other chooses.

We often chose that way, because it made sense to us.
We had a very fair share, and sometimes, the deal would be tricky.
-Imagine you like olives, the smallest portion will be the one with olive... (life is hard)

So that's our (my brother and me) solution to achieve world peace.

Send us our Nobel Prize via this blog.

The take-off of the Beluga...

In Toulouse, you can't help seeing aircraft in the sky all the time.

Connoisseurs might recognize the Beluga in the sky. It is a modified A300 which has a better Max Take-off weight, and helps carry the A380 parts. Airbus had to use Boeing Supper Guppy, until they decided it sucked using Boeing's plane.

So was born the Beluga. Only 5 in the world and you can read their serial number on their tail plane.

which comes from...

They do the same at Eurocopter, naming their helicopters like animals. Much less striking.

As I see that mythical animal slowly moving in the sky like a magical brick.
Why it flies, I know not.

But something comes to mind...

Twitter.

Twitter the fail whale, the big fat service that once again is not available.
But can work with the commitment of the fans. Drawn by Yiying Lu,that picture has gained tremendous traction.

I feel that flying whales, like the Beluga, hit our imagination hard.

Something that wasn't supposed to be possible, made real by a community.

A fail whale saved by fans.
An aircraft, that is eerily flying with the commitments of engineers.

It is 5 in the morning.

As the quietness around is slightly heavy, I try to get some sleep.
I can not find it.

I walk around a bit. Morning fresh air and a bitter coffee wakes me up little by little.

I look at Linkedin. LinkedIn is sleeping. I can not access. It is being upgraded.
I look at facebook. Nothing new for the past three hours.
I try to watch TV. I end up putting M6 channel as a background noise.

It is funny that everyone just stops living during those times.
Yes, we are sleeping.
As if time had stopped.
As if the world was on pause.

Then I think about how much time I could gain by NOT sleeping.

Imagine one third of your life. In your bed. Not necessarily with someone else.

I wish sleeping was an option.

Why I choose happy meals!

Hello boys and girls,

As I see my shares diving, the real estate market following, I just wonder
Is my startup a good investment?

Hmmm.
Seed capital... is often provided by angel investors, and VC show their lack of enthusiasm in the market.

I don't really crave for money, but investment can mean faster expansion. People you can give orders to, markets you can invade with mass marketing.

On the other hand, you have bootstrapping. Starting from nothing and achieve profitability. Then having a cash cow spreading money and wealth on you and your friends (yeah, those friends you still bring along with you to help you keep it real).

Most of the people say better have a small piece of a big pie, than a tiny pie.
Lots of people say, keep control of your company, don't let strangers play with your baby.

Maybe one day, I'll be a VC (Venture Capitalist). I'll just go see entrepreneurs begging for money, and tell them why their project sucks.

And when I'll see someone coming with a start-up named Tadaa!, I'll just tell him that name bears no credibility. I'll keep talking about the startup I was into, and keep saying how hard it is to make a start-up and finally envy all those people that finally make it.

I wish I was a jedi.

My wallet is puking business cards

That's what made me realize that Moo cards were not great a format. Well it's half a business card.

You might have seen those business cards, and you might have purchased them like I did.

All the arguments were there:
-It's different
-It's cheaper
-It's aimed for sustainable development.

But it gets easily lost. I
It's less serious.
People think you're handing them some gum.
People don't know where to put it.
They think you're weird.

You can't play poker with it.

Moo cards... good experience at the beginning, good value for money, but poor long term effect.

I think I'll make some Tadaa drinks and hand them away as business cards.

Cheers!

Boy meets world

Yup. It's a big world.

You meet all kind of people.
Once you begin to try to make your start-up, you're labeled as "entrepreneur".

I like this.

It does not work that much during parties, but I feel I add value.
But the label goes further. Now that I'm actually labeled as a Marketing profile for entrepreneurship, I have more and more people coming to ask for advice.

Heck with it, my thoughts might be worth a few pennies, (or close to none)... but some people really need to hear the obvious even if they know it.

More interestingly, I met some people I really wanted to work with.
We said that one day, we'll create something together.

Business is really a matter of human beings.

V1. Take-off unavoidable.

It comes to a certain point, when an aircraft takes off, wthat your aircraft talks to you.
Yes aircraft can talk.

At a certain speed and given a certain runway length, the brakes won't handle it if you try to stop. Therefore the only thing you can do is TAKE-OFF!

A clear distinct metallic voice resonates in the cockpit, "vee one".
Two words that mean that now, it's either crash into the buildings or get the flight going.

Before I did not have a place I could call My workplace . (The ones in my previous jobs weren't really mine.)

Yesterday, Jose helped me get everything into the rooms and get everything up and running. Whatever you do, it really helps having friends with you.
They just help you cuz it's normal. You just wish you could do more to thank them.

Today, as I arrived at work... I knew something had changed.

Administrative paperwork

With such a title, I guess very few of you guys actually reached the body of the post.
If you did, thanks.

Being an entrepreneur, I had the vague idea that administrative work would take some time.
I never thought it would be that much.

Signing stuff, faxing papers, sorting files, sending e-mails. I think that's because it's still the beginning...
Even in the past did not find time to fill my own tax forms.

Now, looks like I still have time to do what i actually want to do, but I just don't feel attracted to do it.

So I procrastinate, every now and then.
I just wait until the final deadline. To find out a way to make everything work.

Can't wait till I get enough cash to have someone deal with all that for me.

I guess I'll have to wait a few months, then I'll outsource that completely.
